Thursday was a busy busy day. The Omni Shoreman Hotel group has a presentation they're doing to our client I believe next Tuesday, and today was the day they wanted to get all the presentation boards basically layed out and every fabric approved and put out. I think they wanted to do this by today because the senior designer in charge of the project was going to be gone either Friday or monday... and she needed to approve everything.
Anyway, that left me and Laura with some scrambling trying to help them out. I started out by trying to track down an alternate fabric for a fabric we were going to use but found out it was discontinued. I contacted Angela from Angela Brown leathers because she always is super helpful and never lets us down with things we need help with. And sure enough, she pulled through. I sent her a sample today and told her to send back anything that was as close to the same texture and color as possible. And boy did she. It was basically an identical match. Go me.
So I asked her to send over two more of that kind of fabric so we could use them on our presentation boards. And then Rose came up and needed help and had about 6 different kinds of fabric and wanted me to order samples in every color way that those 6 kinds of fabrics came in. Once that was done and the messengers were called and sent for, Kelly came over with a request. We had two samples of Holland & Sherry fabric, and she wanted to see if we could get 12" x 12" samples of them instead. So I called them - and no. So instead she had me order 4 of each.
In between all this, me and Laura were helping out with little photoshopping assignments. Fixing elevations, a few plans, etc. It made the day go by super fast. And then of course a vendor came in at noon again. Linda from F. Schumacher wallcoverings. She loved my black and white striped pants. Yay. Other than that, she was weird..
Later in the day HeeSeung gave me a spec book from St. Regis Jakarta with some things that needed to be filed into and the binder itself needed to be reorganized completely because the order was really screwed up in accordance with the tabs. So that took me a while - and then Anna emailed us and asked if someone was free to help her with something so I volunteered. She needed all these things printed off and filed into the Geneva spec book, but of course thats when the printer decided to be really dumb and totally back up. Laura was doing some photoshopping for Stella, and neither of us could print what we needed out of the color printer. I kept trying for a long time, but eventually it was almost 6:30 and I just gave up and went home. Laura and Alvetina were helping the omin shoreman team in the library but I wanted to go because I needed to get some things done before Lauren and Rachel arrived.
Anyway, the day just went by super fast. I love those kind of days. 6 days more of work! Crazy. Lauren and Rachel didn't end up arrving to my place till about a quarter to 1. I didn't get much sleep that night that's for sure. I'm tirreedd. Good thing it's the weekend!
