LAST MONDAY.

It's my last Monday of the internship! Crazy!
And today was basically an errand day unfortunately. Or fortunately - depending on how you look at it.

When I got to the front of the building, they were pouring a new cement front so I couldn't even get in the building. The foreman asked if I would go around the side to get in. So I said sure! But I had no idea where I was going. Luckily I found a door where some guys let me and I took a freight elevator up to the second floor and then the regular elevator in the building up to the 7th. Weird start to a day...

A few minutes after I arrived there Christine came up with one of the silk cover cards I ordered from Wolf Gordon, and I guess she must have liked that particular line that I ordered because she asked me to order 8"x10" samples of every color that the line comes in. (She had assigned me a task to find an alternate silk line that had at least 20 color ways.)

So I emailed our rep about it, and then moved to the desk in the library because Laura and Alvetina were doing photoshopping things for Kelly today and luckily Esther was gone so I could sit at her desk. The rep got back to me and the samples would be arriving later that day. Lovely!

At about 12:45 HeeSeung emailed all three of us interns asking if someone was free to deliver that same glass sample I took last week back to the place again. Since the other two interns were busy photoshopping for a deadline that day, I volunteered to go. So there I was back out on the hot streets carrying this box of glass around again. Fun. At least I could get up the elevator today because it wasn't after hours.

When I returned, I started working on some CAD plans for Aijun, and went through the gainsborough material spec book to make sure we had all the materials ordered that were supposed to go into the book. And that's when Liz emailed the interns about picking up a lacquered sample of wood at this art space place down the street. Since I was planning on going to lunch soon - Laura suggested I go pick it up on my way back.. greeeaaat. Another errand - seriously, one of them could have done it.

But whatever. I did this errand too. This one was weird because it was in a small building that contained many different businesses and I had to get buzzed in. I've never had to do that before. I felt so silly saying what I was there for to some strange voice coming out of the speaker box on the side of the building.

Anyway so I came back and continued to work on the plans and the materials when Laura called me and asked if I'd have time to return this camera equipment that we had rented for something. Apparently Courtney had asked her and Alvetina at the front desk, but they were still working on photoshop drawings so what could I say? No? So back out in the heat I went with two huge black bags full of camera equipment. So hard to get on the subway with them. Luckily the store they went back to was on 23rd street - so I only had to ride it up one stop.

I hated doing all these errands because it was back in the 90's today with humidity. So i'd leave and get sweaty walking around and then come back and cool off - just to go back out again and get all sweaty. Not fun...

When I got back it was almost 6 which was perfect. I did a few things on the computer for about 40 minutes and then it was time to go home. Perfect!

Back at the apartment, I did the dishes and cleaned up a bit before Lauren and Rachel got home. And I tried buzzing them in from my room and it worked this time! Yay!

The only thing we did tonight was go to grand central and eat pizza on the way home. We were in Grand Central for a while just taking pictures of ourselves on a timer. It was very entertaining. And then on the way home we stopped at the pizza place on the corner on the street my apartment is one and each got a slice to bring up to my room. I love pizza. It's cheap compared to other things here and it's always good.

4 more days of work! I'm excited to be done with work now I think. Just because I'm so close now and I've been so tired this week.
