Saturday!

I got up a little before 10 and started getting ready for today while lauren and rachel slept. When they finally got up me and lauren went to the store to get some groceries and then lauren left to go to a yankee game with someone she knew who was also visiting here. BORING.

Me and Rachel didn't go. Baseball = boring and stupid. So Rachel and I went and put our name down on the waiting list at Serendipity's and then shopped at Bloomingdale's and H&M while we waited for an hour and half for a table to be ready. She tried the mind frozen hot chocolate and I got the regular. Always soooo yummy.

After we were done with all that, it was about time for Lauren to get back so we went back to the apartment and waited for only a bit for her to arrive. Then all three of us went out. We first stopped in the meatpacking district and looked around. It was a neat little area with a lot of good looking restaurants. And I found Highline Park here! I visited it last year but wasn't sure at the time where in the world I was, but we came across it today! So now I know where it is. :) And there was a very guy in a high hotel window above one of the highline park walkways standing in his hotel window in his underwear. Haha. He was getting quite a lot of attention from everyone around - he was beyond drunk... Oh the joys of alcohol. It's such a nice place though! The park was an above ground subway system I think - either that or a train. And they turned the track into a wide walkway filled with trees, flowers, benches, little food stands. It's such a cute area.

We walked down the highline park for a while and then took the subway over to Little Italy and China town. We ended up just browsing through Little Italy and then ate in China Town. Chicken curry for me! So good!

When we got back to the apartment we took a quick break and then went off to the Empire State Building. The lines take forever there. You continually keep snaking around from room to room, hallway to hallway until finally you get to the first elevator... it takes you to the 80th floor. And then you do more snaking around until you get to the second elevator that takes you to the 86th floor observatory level. It's always so worth the wait though - the view is incredible! I'm so glad the observatory is outside. It makes the experience so much better. If course we stuck our heads through the railings to look over the edge. You can see four different states from atop the empire state building on a clear day. Impressive.

After getting back it was almost 2 in the morning. We left for the ESB around 10:30 - so it took a while. The lines took longer than we thought. At least we can kind of sleep in. Except not really - church is at 11 and I need to get up at 9...

Pictures to come!
